Murray joined Anglican Financial Care in September 2026. He is an economist with over 40 years’ experience across a wide range of public policy roles. He was the founding Chair of the NZ Productivity Commission when it was formed in 2011. His previous roles include CEO/Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank on NZ and Chief Manager of the Reserve Bank’s Banking Supervision, Financial Markets and International Departments. Murray has experience as an economist at the OECD, member of the Prime Minister’s Policy Advisory Group, member of the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank, and member of the Advisory Board of the New Zealand Debt management Office.
